Junk Bonanza, the wonderful Antique Show and What to Wear

Junk Bonanza

Recently I convinced my dad to take my mom and I to the Junk Bonanza in Shakopee, Minnesota. We all had so much fun but mostly I loved getting to dress in my antiquing wear and the weather was beautiful. I even got to wear shorts. So if you plan on going there or to any other antique show here is what i recommend (P.S. there is also one in San Diego, California).

  • If it is chilly I would go with some holy jeans, most likely in a wash style but black is also great. Then go with a graphic vintage tee and a green moto jacket and comfortable boots (plan on being there awhile).
  • If it is moderate you could go with shorts or jeans according to your preference.
  • If it is warm wear jean shorts and a tee without the jacket, maybe bring a flannel just in case and wear it around your waist. I would still wear comfy boots because it gets crowded and you don't want your feet getting stepped on.
Now here's what you can expect from this antique show. It is indoors so don't worry about brutally cold or hot weather (although I'm not sure about the one in San Diego). There are many places to eat inside with many varieties of food and yes some places to sit down. you can also eat on a small balcony in the second building. Which brings me to the part that they only have to buildings. Which in my opinion was perfect because it took awhile to cover everything especially when you go back and forth looking. They have wide variety of things from vintage cameras, to new industrial furniture.

If you were wondering I wore jeans, because of my mom's insistence, a Miranda Lambert tee shirt, a green moto jacket, and some of my favorite black ankle boots. I brought a small shoulder bag for my wallet, phone, and polaroid camera.
I has a Great time and was there for one day. We ran into some friends from West End Salvage, my favorite antique store, you can visit there store in West Des Moines, Iowa, and in case you didn't know they have a great show on HGTV.
So thanks for reading. I'll try to post again soon. Please give feedback and requests for any future posts of or vlogs on my youtube channel.
